Bio

My name is Jo-Ann Batulan-Smith, and this is my12th year of teaching. I am excited to start my first year at Good Samaritan Christian Academy with so much in store for fun activities and learning throughout the school year. I would like to tell you about myself. I am from the Philippines called Pearl of the Orient Sea; I am proud that my origin is from there. I graduated from Saint Louis University with my Bachelor’s degree and from the University of the Cordilleras with my Master’s degree from the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City. I love traveling and am always excited to see new places and meet new people. I have been to Sweden, Belgium, and the Netherlands. I came here to the United States six years ago to teach and work in Montana. Also, I have taught in Nevada and Arizona. During my stay here in the U.S., I met my soulmate, Mr. Smith, who happens to be from Montana. We just recently celebrated our 5th anniversary of marriage. I am a fan of the Montana Grizzlies of The University of Montana, my husband’s alma mater, and fell in love with football games while watching them with my new family. I enjoy a variety of food, cooking and baking. I love Spring and Summer since you get to have family outings and enjoy fun activities. I love movies of all kinds except scary ones. I love the color blue. I love Arnold Palmer lemonade iced tea and strawberry lemonade, which I was introduced to here in the U.S. One of my favorite hobbies that I love the most is traveling with my husband and discovering Nevada and the U.S., which included going to a Kansas City Chiefs game in December 2019. I am looking forward to a new adventure, new travel destinations, and new endeavors in life.
