School Advisory Committee (SAC)
The SAC’s objective is to support Good Samaritan’s Christian Academy, its Principal, staff, students, parents and the school campus in general. We meet once a month to discuss a variety of school related topics.
Miriam Dake, GSCA Principal, it has been my pleasure to serve Good Samaritan the last 14 years. I have more than 30 years’ experience in education and have opened 5 schools in both the Dominican Republic and Las Vegas.
Marcel Vermeulen, SAC Business Management, retired as General Manager of a nationwide IT services business. Marcel also serves on the Church Council. Marcel moved to Las Vegas in 2011 and has been active in Good Samaritan since 2013.
Liz Hare, has been in education for the past 15 years, as a teacher and currently a school counselor. Liz is married to Jeremy Hare and has two daughters: Lila (7) and Amelia (4).
Pastor Don Lorfing, Senior Pastor, has been at Good Samaritan for 17 years. He is married to Amy with whom he has had two amazing children, Tristen who has graduated from college and is currently working in Florida and Kyrie who is currently attending Columbia University in New York.
Pastor Scott Hove, Executive Pastor, is a native of North Dakota and has been at Good Samaritan for over 10 years. He is married to Debi, they have a son, Parker (13) and a dog, Dolly.
Regina Vermeulen, SPHR, CCP, President Church Council, HR Committee Chair. Regina is an HR professional with experience in management, strategic planning and leadership development. Regina moved to Las Vegas in 2011 and has been active in Good Samaritan Church since 2013.
Rick Byrnes, Church Treasurer, retired CPA from Cleveland Ohio. He and his wife Paulette moved to Vegas in 2010 and became active in Church council in 2014. Prior positions include President of Church council. They have four adult children.
Dayna Peterson, has been in education for the past 30 years as a teacher and learning strategist. She is married to Brian and they have two sons, Brandon who attends Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego and Logan who attends Faith Lutheran High School.
Mandy Lange, has worked in education for the past 14 years as a teacher and then as a counselor. She has a Master’s degree in school administration and a strong passion for education. She shares two daughters, Ella (7) and Molly (4) with her husband Todd and has been a member of Good Samaritan church for 10 years.
